The Faculty Standards Committee of the University Senate is pleased
to announce the upcoming forum regarding Faculty Promotion, Tenure,
and Reappointment.
The program will begin with a large group session in room 304 of the Student Union outlining the PTR procedures at the Univeristy of Connecticut.
The large group meeting will be followed by breakout sessions led
by Deans (or their designee) outlining the nuances of the PTR process
specific to each school/college or center.
Who will benefit from this forum? All non-tenured assistant or associate
professors
Who may attend? All faculty, administrators, and PTR committee members.
Refreshments will be served. Reservations are not necessary.
Program - The PTR Process
- Large Group Session (approximately 30 minutes):
Led by Provost Peter Nicholls
Topics to be covered:
- What are the milestones in the PTR process?
- How does the University of Connecticut reappoint, promote,
and grant tenure to faculty members?
- What is the nature of the PTR review by the department, school/college
or center, and the Provost?
- Breakout Sessions (approximately 60 minutes):
- PTR processes specific to each school/college or center: session
led by the Dean (or their designee).
